Can I install any CurseForge modpack?
Yes. Any pack in the CurseForge catalogue installs from the panel, along with its loader and its Minecraft version. Modrinth packs work the same way. The pack pages elsewhere on this site are shortcuts with tuned RAM recommendations, not the limit of what you can run.
How much RAM does a CurseForge pack need?
It depends on the pack more than the player count. A light pack of 40 to 80 mods sits on a 4 GB base, a mid-weight pack on 6 GB, and both then add about 0.2 GB per concurrent player. That puts a mid-weight pack with ten players at 8 GB, which is €20 a month. Kitchen-sink packs raise the base rather than the per-player figure, so size up a tier.
Do my players need the CurseForge app?
They need the pack, not any particular launcher. The CurseForge app is the easiest route for most people, but Prism and other launchers read the same manifest and work fine. What matters is that everyone runs the same pack version as the server.
Does it cost more than a vanilla server?
Only if you need more memory, which most packs do. The rate is the same €2.50 per GB of RAM per month with no setup fee and no surcharge for running a loader, so a modded server costs more only because it sits higher on the same ladder.
Can I switch to a different pack later?
Yes, from the panel. Reinstalling replaces the server files, so take a backup and download a copy first if you want to keep the current world. Plan changes in either direction are prorated, so moving up a tier for a heavier pack does not mean paying twice.
What happens if the pack will not boot?
Almost always a version mismatch: a mod built for a different loader or a different Minecraft version. The crash log names it. Restore the backup from before the change, add mods one at a time, and if the log is not clear, support answers in about 15 minutes at any hour.
