What Is a DawnCraft Server?
DawnCraft: Echoes of Legends turns Minecraft into a souls-like RPG on Forge for 1.18.2, with over 200 custom-picked mods and a quest system run out of village guild houses. Epic Fight replaces the vanilla swing with stamina, dodges and weapon movesets, so combat becomes a skill you build rather than a bar you fill. The current release is 2.0.16, and the pack has passed ten million downloads on CurseForge.
Basic crafting is locked until you earn it. Killing the Corrupted Ogre and picking up the Lost Eye unlocks the smoker and blast furnace, Knight Rober and the Rogue Eye open the anvil and every Create item, and Nine Tails with the Exotic Eye hands over the smithing table and enchantment table. The main line wants twelve reworked eyes of ender in total, most of them held by Eye Holders the guild master points you toward.
The cost here is entities, not block updates. DawnCraft Mobs, the human NPCs and the bundled Towns and Towers datapack mean a lot of pathfinding creatures awake at once, and boss arenas add animated multi-part models that tick constantly. Epic Fight tracks combat state per entity on top of that. Because 1.18.2 predates several later server-side improvements, tick time climbs faster as players scatter than it would on a 1.20 pack.
Pick DawnCraft if your group wants a shared campaign with real difficulty and does not mind losing an evening to a single boss. Knowledge unlocks are tracked per player, so anyone joining late starts back at the first eye and you should plan a helper run or two. It needs Java 17 or 18, and it pays to decide who talks to the guild master before someone burns a quest for the group.

How Much RAM Does a DawnCraft Server Need?
8 GB before anyone joins, then roughly 0.2 GB per player online.
Sits exactly on the pack's floor with zero headroom, so it covers no players at all. Once DawnCraft Mobs and the human NPCs populate the world, 8 GB stalls the tick loop and boss fights degrade into slideshows.
Handles up to 20 players. Enough room for the entity load from Towns and Towers settlements while several parties chase separate eyes at the same time.
Handles up to 40 players. Sensible when groups hunt different Eye Holders in separate regions, since each one keeps its own chunks and animated mobs alive.
Sized from DawnCraft's 8 GB floor plus 0.2 GB per concurrent player. You can move between these tiers from the panel at any time, prorated to the day.
