What Is a StoneBlock 4 Server?

FTB StoneBlock 4 is Feed the Beast's rebuilt underground survival pack: you start surrounded by stone with no sky, and everything you need has to be dug, sifted and crafted from it. Release 1.24.1 from October 2026 runs Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge 21.1.262, which means Java 21 on the server, and its manifest lists 418 CurseForge files.

Progression runs through the World Engine, an ancient relic with more than 15 multiblock upgrades that unlock new crafting tiers as you go. You begin in the Garden of Stone, pick one of five starting islands and work through six Foundation Chapters of FTB Quests. Handcrafted Vaults test puzzles, combat and endurance for rare loot, and Echoes of the old world hand out quests and trades. The Unearther puts a villager to work sifting your gravel, sand and dust.

It plays well with a group because FTB Team Bases is in the pack, so everyone shares progress and a base. Every machine keeps ticking on the server whether or not its owner is online, which is the real load on the plan. Keep factories compact and take a backup before a one-click update, since the pack has been releasing every few weeks.

How much RAM does a StoneBlock 4 server need?

Feed the Beast's manifest asks for 8 GB, and that is the figure for the pack alone, so an 8 GB plan has nothing spare. 12 GB is the size to buy for about 20 players, and 16 GB covers 40 or a group running several large automation lines.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it use?

Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge 21.1.262 with release 1.24.1, which runs on Java 21. Players need the same pack version in their launcher, and any mod you add must be a 1.21.1 NeoForge build. The pack also needs enable-command-block=true in server.properties, or some structures in the world will not work.

Is StoneBlock 4 the same as StoneBlock 3?

No. StoneBlock 3 is a separate pack on Minecraft 1.18.2 and Forge, so worlds do not move between them. We host both, and you can switch the server between packs from the panel.

Do our machines keep running when nobody is online?

Yes, as long as the chunks stay loaded. Claimed and force-loaded chunks keep ticking on an empty server, which is how overnight processing works, and it is also the quickest way to use up tick time.

What are the Vaults and the World Engine?

The Vaults are handcrafted trial chambers with puzzles, combat and endurance challenges, and the World Engine is the central relic whose upgrades unlock new crafting tiers. Both are part of the main quest line, so a group usually works through them together.

Can I add mods or move to a different pack later?
