About the Modpack

What Is a StoneBlock 2 Server?

FTB Presents StoneBlock 2 is the Feed the Beast follow-up to the original StoneBlock, where you start in a world of stone. The latest release, 1.16.1 from October 2019, runs Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge 14.23.5.2846, and its manifest lists 225 CurseForge files.

The CurseForge page promises new mods, new dimensions and new bosses, with a modified Mining dimension and End dimension. It calls the pack kitchen-sink-like, with quests to guide the start and give you goals to reach, so expect a broad mix of mods rather than one theme.

Machines and loaded chunks keep working while their owner is offline, which is the real load on the plan. The pack has not updated since 2019, so there are no release surprises. We host StoneBlock 3 and 4 as separate packs on newer versions.

My server KuroKraft uses Craftlands hosting, great CPU great performance, but performance aside, a big thing is mrDadone … actually help a lot with running and setting up and giving advice on everything for the better. Network issues, plugin recommendations, server monitoring, they do it all. … The last thing they will do is push trying to get you to spend more on ram first if ur server is lagging because its 99.99% something else that is most likely the issue first before lack of memory or disk.

So far, AMAZING. They provide great support and multiple services! Helped setup a Proxy for our server and gave good suggestions for Plugins! They take the time to explain things to you and are honest with their Clients. A big winner for me, being able to buy multiple months in advanced is too good. All for a fair price for the Specs they provide.

FAQ Quick Help

Frequently Asked Questions

Loaders, pack sources, memory and cost, answered for modded Minecraft specifically.

How much RAM does a StoneBlock 2 server need?

CurseForge gives no figure for this pack. We start at 6 GB for 225 files on 1.12.2, which leaves nothing spare, so 8 GB is the size for about 10 players and 12 GB covers 30.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it use?

Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge 14.23.5.2846 with release 1.16.1. Players need the same pack version in their launcher, and any mod you add must be a 1.12.2 Forge build.

Is StoneBlock 2 the same as StoneBlock 3 or 4?

No. StoneBlock 3 runs Minecraft 1.18.2 on Forge, StoneBlock 4 runs 1.21.1 on NeoForge, and this pack runs 1.12.2, so worlds do not move between them. We host all three, and you can switch the server between packs from the panel.

What is new compared with the first StoneBlock?

The CurseForge page lists new mods, new dimensions and new bosses, with a modified Mining dimension and End dimension. Like the first pack, you start in a world of stone, with quests to guide the early game.

Is the pack still updated?

The latest file on CurseForge is 1.16.1 from October 2019. The pack is stable rather than moving, so a world is not disturbed by surprise updates.

Can I add mods or move to a different pack later?

Yes to both. You get full file access plus one-click installs from CurseForge and Modrinth, and you can swap the server to another modpack from the panel on the same plan. We back up your world before the switch.
