What Is a SkyFactory 5 Server?

SkyFactory 5 is the fifth skyblock pack from Darkosto and Firstnecron. Release 5.0.8 from March 2025 runs Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge 47.4.0 with Java 17, and its manifest lists 293 CurseForge files. It is a separate project from SkyFactory 4, which stays on 1.12.2.

The theme is colour. Resources are crafted with dye collected from dripstone, gateways let you fight bosses for loot, and every completed gateway earns a trophy that lets you spawn that mob on demand. Create arrives in the series for the first time with a set of addons, alongside returning favourites such as Mystical Agriculture, Draconic Evolution and RFTools Dimensions, and a task book gives the progression a direction.

Skyblock worlds are small, so the load is machines and spawners rather than terrain. Mob spawning and farms are what run up tick time on a shared island, so spread them out and keep your group's automation in one area.

My server KuroKraft uses Craftlands hosting, great CPU great performance, but performance aside, a big thing is mrDadone … actually help a lot with running and setting up and giving advice on everything for the better. Network issues, plugin recommendations, server monitoring, they do it all. … The last thing they will do is push trying to get you to spend more on ram first if ur server is lagging because its 99.99% something else that is most likely the issue first before lack of memory or disk.

How much RAM does a SkyFactory 5 server need?

The pack page recommends at least 6 GB, and that is for the pack alone. 6 GB is the floor with nothing spare, 8 GB is the working choice for about 10 players, and 12 GB covers 30.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it use?

Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge 47.4.0 with release 5.0.8, which needs Java 17. Players need the same pack version in their launcher, and extra mods must be 1.20.1 Forge builds.

Is SkyFactory 5 the same as SkyFactory 4?

No. SkyFactory 4 is a separate pack on Minecraft 1.12.2, so worlds do not move between them. We host both, and you can swap packs from the panel.

Is the world a void island?
