About the Modpack

What Is an FTB Revelation Server?

FTB Revelation is the Feed The Beast team's general all-purpose modpack, which CurseForge calls the largest pack the team had built. The latest release, 3.4.0 from December 2020, runs Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge 14.23.5.2846, and its manifest lists 192 CurseForge files.

It is not a themed pack: the page lists EnderIO, Applied Energistics, Thaumcraft, Botania, Thermal Expansion, Immersive Engineering and Project Red, with Twilight Forest for exploration. The authors say they changed the mods as little as possible, so each one plays the way its developers intended.

Load comes from machines and magic setups that keep running in loaded chunks, which is the real cost on a plan. CurseForge recommends at least 4 GB for servers as well as clients and Java 8, and says Java 9 is not supported. The pack has not updated since 2020.

My server KuroKraft uses Craftlands hosting, great CPU great performance, but performance aside, a big thing is mrDadone … actually help a lot with running and setting up and giving advice on everything for the better. Network issues, plugin recommendations, server monitoring, they do it all. … The last thing they will do is push trying to get you to spend more on ram first if ur server is lagging because its 99.99% something else that is most likely the issue first before lack of memory or disk.

So far, AMAZING. They provide great support and multiple services! Helped setup a Proxy for our server and gave good suggestions for Plugins! They take the time to explain things to you and are honest with their Clients. A big winner for me, being able to buy multiple months in advanced is too good. All for a fair price for the Specs they provide.

FAQ Quick Help

Frequently Asked Questions

Loaders, pack sources, memory and cost, answered for modded Minecraft specifically.

How much RAM does an FTB Revelation server need?

CurseForge recommends a minimum of 4 GB for servers as well as clients, so we start at 4 GB, which leaves nothing spare for players. 8 GB is the size for about 20 players and 12 GB covers 40.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it use?

Minecraft 1.12.2 on Forge 14.23.5.2846 with release 3.4.0. Players need the same pack version in their launcher, and any mod you add must be a 1.12.2 Forge build.

What kind of pack is FTB Revelation?

An all-purpose one. CurseForge says it is not themed or focused and suits tech, magic, exploration or building, with Twilight Forest included for players who want bosses and exploration.

Which Java version does it need?

CurseForge recommends the latest Java 8 and says Java 9 is not supported. We handle the runtime for you, so you do not install anything.

Is the pack still updated?

The latest file on CurseForge is 3.4.0 from December 2020. The pack is stable rather than moving, so a world is not disturbed by surprise updates.

Can I add mods or move to a different pack later?

Yes to both. You get full file access plus one-click installs from CurseForge and Modrinth, and you can swap the server to another modpack from the panel on the same plan. We back up your world before the switch.

Start Your FTB Revelation Server Today
