About the Modpack

What Is a Life in the Village 3 Server?

Life in the Village 3 is dreams01's town building pack for Minecraft 1.19.2, 287 mods in release 2.10 on Forge 43.3.2. It sits deliberately close to vanilla: no tech tree to climb, no dimensions to conquer, just a colony to grow. MineColonies is the centre of it, with Structurize, Domum Ornamentum and Stylecolonies supplying the building styles and the preview tool you plan with.

A colony starts with a town hall and a builder and grows into something with farmers, crafters, guards, enchanters, alchemists and a university that unlocks research. Citizens do the work, you decide what gets built and where, and the whole loop is cooperative rather than competitive, which is why the pack reads well on a small friends server rather than a public one.

Around the colony sits a light vanilla-plus layer: Create and its addons for machinery, Tetra for modular tools, Farmer's Delight and Croptopia for a cooking system the pack counts at over 250 foods, 58 crops and 26 trees, Sophisticated Backpacks and Storage for inventory, plus Alex's Mobs, YUNG's structures, Repurposed Structures and an amplified 256 block tall Nether to explore. FTB Quests acts as the guide rather than a gate.

The server cost here scales with colonies, not with players. Every citizen is an entity that paths, hauls and builds while its chunks are loaded, and the shipped config allows up to 250 of them in a single colony, so five established towns are a far heavier server than five players wandering alone. The pack bundles Chunk-Pregenerator and a full performance set including ModernFix, FerriteCore, Entity Culling and the smooth chunk save patches, which is exactly the tuning a colony server needs.

Fine for one small colony and nothing else. As soon as a second town starts building, the citizen entities and their pathfinding push a 6 GB heap into constant collection.

Covers 30 players. The real reason to take it is town count: every colony keeps its citizens ticking, so a server of established towns needs the headroom more than a server of new arrivals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? Find answers to the most common queries about plans, setup, and managing your game server to help you launch quickly and enjoy smooth multiplayer gameplay.

How much RAM does a Life in the Village 3 server need?

Start at 8 GB, which covers 10 players, and take 12 GB for up to 30. Judge it by colonies rather than headcount: four large towns of citizens cost the server more than a dozen players exploring on foot.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it run on?

Minecraft 1.19.2 on Forge 43.3.2, with release 2.10 from December 2024 as the current build. Anything you add on top has to be a 1.19.2 Forge build.

Can everyone build their own colony?

Yes, one each. The config the pack ships keeps colonies at least 8 chunks apart, lets a claim grow to a 20 chunk radius, allows colonies in other dimensions and caps a single colony at 250 citizens. All of those are server settings you can change from the panel before anyone settles.

Why does the server stay busy when nobody is online?

Colony citizens keep working while their chunks are loaded, which is what makes a town feel alive when you log back in. It also means the tick cost of a colony is constant, so the number and size of towns is what you plan capacity around.

Should we pregenerate the world?

Yes, and the pack already ships Chunk-Pregenerator for it. Generating the area your group plans to settle in advance keeps the builder and the delivery workers from competing with fresh chunk generation for the same tick budget.

Can I add mods or move to a different pack later?

Yes to both. You get full file access plus one-click installs from CurseForge and Modrinth, and you can swap the server to another modpack from the panel on the same plan. We back up your world before the switch.
