What Is a Homestead Server?

Homestead is a cozy survival pack by Tokimi and the CozyStudios team: settle down, play slow, farm, cook and build. Release 2.0.1 from October 2026 runs Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric loader 0.19.5, and its manifest lists 354 CurseForge files, with 709 quests across 27 chapters.

Cogs and Whimsy is the biggest chapter at 73 quests and walks you through Create from your first cogwheel to industrial contraptions. Around it sit 187 dishes to cook, 177 drinks to pour, 33 fish across the Overworld, Nether and End, 6,981 chipped blocks, 100+ plushies, and Forged Fables, a gear line that goes beyond Netherite.

A dedicated Server Pack is available on CurseForge. Shaders ship with the pack for players and can be switched off in Video Settings if frames drop. Release 2.0 landed on 22 October and 2.0.1 on 27 October 2026, so take a backup before updating.

Network issues, plugin recommendations, server monitoring, they do it all. … The last thing they will do is push trying to get you to spend more on ram first if ur server is lagging because its 99.99% something else that is most likely the issue first before lack of memory or disk.

How much RAM does a Homestead server need?

CurseForge tells players to give the pack 6 to 8 GB and not to go past 10. For a server we start at 8 GB, so that plan has nothing spare once players join. 12 GB is the size to buy for about 20 players, and 16 GB covers 40.

Which Minecraft version and loader does it use?

Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric loader 0.19.5 with release 2.0.1. Players need the same pack version in their launcher, and any mod you add must be a 1.20.1 Fabric build.

Is Create part of Homestead?

Yes. The Cogs and Whimsy chapter has 73 quests and covers the full Create experience, from the first cogwheel to industrial-scale contraptions. Running machines keep ticking on the server, which is the main load beyond player count.

Can players use shaders?

Yes. Three looks ship enabled out of the box (Dawn, Day and Night) using Complementary Reimagined, and they can be turned off in Video Settings. Shaders run on each player's computer, not on the server.

Which launcher do players use?

The CurseForge page lists the CurseForge, Prism and Modrinth launchers for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Fabric. Everyone should install the same pack version as the server.

Can I add mods or move to a different pack later?

Yes to both. You get full file access plus one-click installs from CurseForge and Modrinth, and you can swap the server to another modpack from the panel on the same plan. We back up your world before the switch.
