Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons 2 is the official spiritual successor to the original RAD, and it deliberately is not a kitchen-sink build. Over 250 mods all push in one direction: leave the base. You level skills such as Mining and Combat, tools and weapons level alongside you, and gear, trinkets and even the mobs themselves roll random modifiers and rarities, so two runs through the same dungeon hand out very different loot.

More than 1500 quests aim you at the map and pay in useful rewards or coins for the shop. The route runs outward through Twilight Forest, the Undergarden, Blue Skies, Tropicraft, the Bumblezone and Atum 2, with each dimension carrying its own stat bonuses. Mobs scale as you do, elemental dragons guard unique loot, and the pack ships Normal, Expert and Master difficulty stages plus a revamped Hardcore mode that gives you more than one life.

The load here is chunk generation, not machinery. With 100+ new biomes and 12+ dimensions, a party that splits up is carving fresh terrain in several worlds at once, and every dimension anyone opens keeps its own region files on disk and its own chunks in memory while a player is inside. Custom Dungeon Crawl themes and heavy mob spawns stack entity cost on top. The worst tick times land when a new dimension is entered for the first time.

RAD 2 fits groups who would rather clear a dungeon than build a factory, and the nomad kit of backpacks, bags and portable homes means people wander for hours without coming home. Because everyone explores separately, settle on a view distance before you invite the group and pregenerate a ring around spawn. Agree on Normal, Expert or Master as a server too, since the stage sets mob scaling for the whole world.
