Frequently Asked Questions
Cost, memory, modpacks, crossplay and cancelling, answered before you pay rather than after.
How much does a Minecraft server cost?
Flat €2.50 per GB per month, no setup fee. 4 GB is €10, 8 GB is €20, 16 GB is €40, up to 128 GB. Every tier: plugins, mods, backups, filtering, MySQL, MariaDB, Redis. The NewServer coupon takes the first month to €8; it renews at €10.
Do I have to port forward?
No. The server has a public address and an open port from the moment it is created, so nobody edits a router, opens a firewall or chases a home IP that changed overnight. You send the address, your friends connect.
Yes. That is the difference between renting one and running it on your own PC: the world stays up when you log off, nobody waits for one specific person to be online, and your machine is not holding the tick loop while you play.
Can I run any CurseForge or Modrinth modpack?
Yes. Over 22,000 CurseForge and Modrinth packs are server-ready here, with the loader and Minecraft version matched for you, and any other CurseForge pack installs the same way. Paper and Purpur take plugins; Forge, Fabric and NeoForge take mods.
Can I host both Java and Bedrock?
Yes, though they are separate server types rather than one shared world. We host both, managed from one account, so a group with console and mobile players can run one of each rather than leave anyone out.
How much RAM does my Minecraft server need?
View distance and your mod loader set the figure, not your player count. A Paper server with a dozen plugins and a Forge server with three hundred mods are completely different memory profiles at the same player count, because every mod registers its blocks, items and recipes before anyone connects. Size for your loader first, then add headroom for players. Memory is €2.50 per GB of RAM per month, from 4 GB up to 128 GB.
Why does my Minecraft server lag when the CPU looks idle?
A Minecraft world ticks in a single loop twenty times a second, and that loop is overwhelmingly one thread: entity ticks, block updates, redstone and mob pathfinding all queue behind each other on one core. Spare cores cannot make it finish sooner, so clock speed matters far more than core count. That is why our servers run AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors boosting to 5.7 GHz with DDR5 memory behind them.
Can I upgrade or cancel later?
Both, from the panel. Move anywhere between 4 GB and 128 GB and pay €2.50 per GB for the new size, with no migration and no reinstall. There is a 3-day money-back guarantee, and your world is yours to download before you cancel.
Which CraftLands server location should I choose?
Pick the CraftLands location closest to most of your players, because physical distance is what sets ping. The Check Your Ping section on this page measures your latency to Singapore, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt in your browser, and the checkout step marks the fastest of the six as Recommended before you pay.
